Chezney Martin

Chezney is a proud Seneca Nation member of the Turtle Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. Raised on-reserve, she was deeply immersed in her community’s language, teachings, and culture. Though her early experiences with post-secondary education were challenging, over a decade of work in journalism and writing—and the influence of inspiring Indigenous colleagues—reshaped her perspective.

She has since earned a Diploma in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management from McMaster Continuing Education and obtained her CAPM designation in 2024. She also holds a certificate in Indigenous Relations and Advocacy from Fanshawe College and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at McMaster University, where she served as the first Vice President of Intersectionality Coordination for the McMaster Sociology Society.

Chezney is now embarking on completing a Master of Business Administration at Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business, with a focus on Indigenous Business Leadership.
