Desiree Norwegian, a proud member of Liidlii Kue First Nation and part of the Dene clan from the Northwest Territories, holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Accounting) and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She is the Manager of Indigenous Relations at Aecon’s nuclear division, where she champions Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, gender diversity, and clean energy education—highlighting nuclear’s role in green power, medical isotopes, and advanced reactors.
A former business owner in the nuclear sector, Desiree bridges industry and Indigenous communities, leading efforts in education, employment, equity, and partnerships. Her commitment to change spans generations, guiding her advisory roles in provincial/federal policy and board positions, including Co-Chair of CCIB, Treasurer of Build a Dream, and Director at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.
Rooted in Dene teachings—"take only what you need" and "share all knowledge"—Desiree inspires others by sharing what she learns, driven to empower and uplift every person she connects with.
