Gary Weiss as the Director of Northern Infrastructure and Partnerships Branch with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has 30 years of experience in Northwestern Ontario designing, constructing and overseeing MTO’s highway and bridge programs. As a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, Gary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Lakehead University and a Masters of Business Administration from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh Scotland. He has been working out of the Ministry of Transportations Thunder Bay office in a variety of positions since 2001.
Over the last 10 years, Gary has been working directly with Indigenous Communities across Northwestern Ontario developing unique Community focused opportunities for Indigenous procurement and participation in MTO projects in the areas of design, environmental protection, road maintenance, construction, and contract oversight. He looks forward to sharing his insights and learnings from this meaningful work with you at the Conference.
