Sloane Bobiwash-Trainor

Sloane Bobiwash-Trainor is a proud registered band member of Thessalon First Nation, and a high-performing student-athlete whose leadership and curiosity extend far beyond the field. With a deep commitment to uplifting her peers and Indigenous youth, Sloane is passionate about sustaining momentum in the movement for Indigenous rights and fostering Indigenous-led economic development across Turtle Island.

A standout in both academics and athletics, Sloane is a Skate Canada provincial silver medalist in figure skating and a key player for the Barrie Storm softball team, where she holds an OPS of 1.132 and a .410 batting average as a second baseman. In 2025, as a first-year player for the school she went on to win the Nouvelle Alliance High School Softball MVP Award, a testament to her skill, determination, and leadership on the diamond.

Beyond sports, Sloane is driven by a vision of cultural preservation and innovation. She explores the intersection of traditional knowledge and emerging technologies—particularly AI and digital media—as tools to amplify Indigenous voices, protect ancestral wisdom, and inspire the next generation of changemakers.
