Adam Pawis is a dedicated and experienced leader currently serving as the Chief of Shawanaga First Nation. Stepping into the role in May 2021, he brings a long-standing commitment to Indigenous governance and community development.
His leadership is informed by seven years of experience as the Economic Development Officer for Magnetawan First Nation, where he was instrumental in driving community growth and prosperity. Before that, he served his home community of Shawanaga as Head Councillor for four years, establishing his deep roots in local governance and advocacy.
Adam’s extensive career also includes a decade as a Field Service Technician with Rolar Construction, providing him with a practical, hands-on understanding of public relations and essential services. This powerful blend of strategic vision and on-the-ground experience uniquely positions him to lead Shawanaga First Nation forward, advocating effectively for its members and future.
