Brock is one of North America’s leading economic development experts. He began his career with the United Nations, working on development projects in over 30 countries before returning to Canada to lead economic development and tourism agencies in Nova Scotia and Ontario.
In 2007, he founded MDB Insight (now part of Deloitte), which supported 300+ communities across North America in investment attraction and job creation. The firm was named to Profit Magazine’s “Hot 50” list and became Canada’s largest economic development consulting firm. He later joined the University of Waterloo as Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Director of its Economic Development Program.
Currently, Brock is Vice-Chair of Invest Ontario, Executive-in-Residence at Innovate Niagara, and a partner at Stonebridge Solutions, a U.S.-based investment group. A published writer and public speaker, he holds a BA from the University of North Carolina and a Master’s in International Relations from Brock University, with additional studies at Queen’s, Waterloo, and Université Sainte-Anne.
