Dawn Lambe brings more than 30 years of experience in technology design, clean energy development, political advocacy, and organizational leadership to her work supporting First Nations’ economic development in the 39 communities within the Anishinabek Nation. Throughout her career, Dawn has led both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations and has worked at the intersection of innovation, renewable energy, natural resources, community development and the transition to a low-carbon economy. She has organized and led international business delegations from Finland and Sweden to communities across Northern Ontario, creating opportunities to exchange knowledge about community energy sovereignty, bioheat, biopower and locally-driven economic development. Dawn leads the development of the Anishinabek Nation Energy Strategy, coordinates the the annual Anishinabek Nation Energy Engagement Forum, and continues to advocate for energy policy that both respects First Nations’ inherent and Treaty rights, and advances First Nations’ participation in the sector as true partners and rights holders. Outside of work, Dawn is building an off-grid NetZero home and treasures time spent harvesting and just being in the forests and on the lakes and rivers of Northern Ontario.
