Bobby Narcisse

Deputy Grand Chief

Deputy Grand Chief (DGC) Bobby Narcisse is an Ojibway from Aroland First Nation in Treaty 9 territory. He studied Political Studies and Law at Lakehead University and interned at the Native Law Centre, University of Saskatchewan. With over 20 years of experience in social services and education, Bobby has served as a band councillor and is currently Director of Social Services at Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN), where he leads reform in child welfare and family well-being. He was a key figure in NAN’s involvement in the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruling that found the federal government guilty of discriminating against First Nations children.

DGC Narcisse has led youth leadership programs in First Nations communities, international development teams in South America and New Zealand, and mentors with the Regional Multicultural Youth Council. A former Education Counsellor and recreation leader at Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School, he also has a background in Indigenous theatre and is a professional singer.
