Jenny-Lou Campbell, an Anishinaabe-Kwe from Serpent River First Nation, grew up in the mining communities of Elliot Lake and Marathon, Ontario. She holds a B.Sc. in Natural and Environmental Sciences from Lakehead University. Her mining career has taken her across Ontario and Manitoba, working in technical, planning, and project roles—both underground and surface—within departments such as surveying, ventilation, and mine planning.
In 2022, Jenny transitioned into First Nation advocacy and policy with the Anishinabek Nation. She now serves as Executive Director of the Indigenous Centre of Excellence for Mineral Development (ICEMD), where she leads initiatives to increase First Nation participation in the mining sector. ICEMD provides tools, training, research, and technical resources while connecting communities, industry, and governments. Through liaison and referral services, Jenny supports meaningful engagement and relationship-building, empowering First Nations to play a central role in shaping the future of mineral development.
