Lilli Doughty is the Economic Development Specialist for Wahnapitae First Nation, where she leads strategic initiatives to drive economic growth, build sustainable partnerships, and advance community well-being. With nearly a decade of experience working with First Nations in the areas of business development, project planning, and governance, Lilli brings both expertise and cultural understanding to her work.She has played a key role in advancing opportunities across multiple sectors—including natural resources, infrastructure, tourism, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship—with a strong focus on economic sovereignty and community benefit. In addition to leading development initiatives, she also negotiates on behalf of the First Nation, ensuring that all agreements reflect Wahnapitae’s values, protect its interests, and deliver long-term value.

Lilli holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, supported by specialized training in project management, accounting, and Indigenous governance. Her approach is community-driven, strategic, and grounded in the goal of creating lasting prosperity for current and future generations.

She is also actively involved with Aki-eh Dibinwewziwin Limited Partnership, supporting land-based business ventures and economic collaborations that align with Wahnapitae First Nation’s vision for growth and self-reliance.

Lilli is deeply committed to Indigenous economic development and continues to be a trusted leader in building strong, values-based partnerships that support Nation rebuilding and sustainable success.
