Matthew Jackson is Vice President, Indigenous Partnerships and Business Development at Hydro One. A strategic leader with over 18 years in the energy sector, he is known for building meaningful partnerships that drive economic reconciliation and infrastructure development with Indigenous communities.

Since joining Hydro One in 2021, Matthew has led the implementation of the groundbreaking 50-50 First Nations Equity Partnership Model, offering equity ownership in major transmission projects over $100 million. This first-of-its-kind model has been recognized as a major step toward reconciliation in North America's energy sector.

He leads engagement with over 130 Indigenous governments and is guiding billions in future First Nation investment into Ontario’s electricity system.

Previously, he held senior roles at Union Gas and Enbridge. Born in the Saugeen Ojibway Nation’s traditional territory, Matthew is a former municipal councillor in South Bruce Peninsula. He holds a commerce degree from the University of Lethbridge and a business diploma from Conestoga College.
