My name is Meaghan Masakeyash. I am a mom of two young boys, a beadwork artist, and a proud member of Lac Seul First Nation.
Coming from a background in health and education, stepping into economic development in January 2026 as Business Development Manager was a significant career change. Since then, I have helped lead the 2026 Career Fair, which raised $150,000, and Lac Seul’s first annual golf tournament, which raised more than $26,000 for our youth. In my regular role, I support our Community Economic Development Fund, which directly supports local entrepreneurs and community-led growth, and over the summer, served as Interim Employment & Training Manager during a period of transition.
Economic development is a newer chapter in my career, but it has brought together what I have learned throughout my previous roles: building partnerships, finding resources, and creating opportunities that directly benefit our community.
