
Michael S. Jacobs is a proud Anishinaabe from Curve Lake First Nation and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Cambium Indigenous Professional Services (CIPS). With more than 30 years of experience in the Indigenous consulting sector, Michael is widely recognized as a leader in First Nation economic development, governance, and advisory services.
Through CIPS, Michael leads a national team delivering strategic advisory, engagement, and technical services that support Indigenous communities, governments, and industry partners in advancing sustainable economic outcomes. His work has contributed to the development of business, strategic, and community plans that have generated millions in investment into the First Nation economy.
Michael is known for his ability to bridge perspectives between First Nations, government, and the private sector—translating complex issues into practical, community-centered solutions. He regularly speaks on Indigenous economic development, relationship building, and governance.
In addition to his executive leadership, Michael holds several prominent board roles. He is Co-Chair of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB), Chair of the Oshkiigmong Economic Development Corporation, Vice-Chair of Green Communities Canada, and a Board Member with the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation.
