Sarah Hopkins is from the Turtle Clan of the Lenni Lenape, whose ancestors were displaced from their homeland, Lenapehoking (modern-day New York City and surrounding areas), to Eelŭnaapéewi Lahkéewiit (Delaware Nation) in southwestern Ontario. A Day School survivor, Sarah was raised by strong matriarchs—her mother, a fierce advocate; her grandmother, a residential school survivor; and her great-grandmother, a fluent Lenape speaker. These resilient women deeply shaped Sarah’s commitment to uplifting Indigenous voices.
In 2018, with the support of her family, Sarah founded Three Sisters Consulting, a company devoted to advancing the success of Indigenous Peoples in business, leadership, and life. As Matriarch, she leads her growing team with strength and compassion. Sarah has served as an elected council member for her Nation, a board member and treasurer for her tribal council, and currently sits on the board of the Canadian Mental Health Association (Lambton Kent). She works across sectors—government, corporate, and non-profit—on issues including mining, Indigenous legal systems, economic development, and legislation. Grounded by her community, her Elders, and her two sons, Sarah continues to seek opportunities to connect and share space with Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island.
