Oshki-Wenjack works closely with NAN communities to develop unique educational programs that directly serve the workforce needs of those communities. Whether courses are delivered remotely or in-person in Thunder Bay, the emphasis at Oshki-Wenjack is always on creating a learning environment where each learner has the opportunity to find their path and achieve their goals.
The Governing Council is composed of representatives from each of the Tribal Councils in the NAN territory. Staff members are full-time employees, and faculty are contract instructors. Researchers, curriculum developers, and special project support are hired as needed.

Kim Falcigno has served as Vice President of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute since 2020, following her role as Academic Director during six years of steady growth. She is committed to improving economic prosperity in remote Nishnawbe Aski Nation communities through education access and champions integrating Indigenous and Western learning models to enrich curriculum and perspectives.
With over 30 years in education, Kim has held roles in teaching, research, curriculum development, and leadership across K-12, postsecondary, continuing education, and adult literacy sectors. She has published curriculum, led research projects, contributed to conference proceedings, and served as Editor for the Canadian Association of Geographers’ Annual Directory for 15+ years. A Thunder Bay native, Kim holds degrees in Geography and Education and master’s degrees in Education and Business from Lakehead University.
