Discover how the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) supports Indigenous communities and businesses in advancing trade and foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction goals. This session will also share insights from recent Indigenous engagement under the Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS). Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how the TCS can help strengthen community investment readiness, foster global partnerships, and expand Indigenous participation in international markets.
Kingson Lim - Manager, Strategic Indigenous Engagement, Global Affairs Canada
Kingson is currently Manager, Strategic Indigenous Engagement at Global Affairs Canada, where he conducts Indigenous engagement and initiatives for the Indo-Pacific Branch and the Trade Commissioner Service. He was previously one of two government leads for Canada on the Indigenous Peoples Economic and Trade Cooperation Arrangement (IPETCA). Currently on secondment from Indigenous Services Canada where he led various international and domestic economic development activities, Kingson has over 20 years of experience with the Government of Canada working on various international, Indigenous, domestic, and corporate files in over ten departments and agencies. Kingson has a B.Com (Hons.) in Public Policy and Public Management from the University of Ottawa and a MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
Jamie Forrester – Senior Investment Officer, Global Affairs Canada
Jamie is a Senior Investment Officer with the CanExport Community Investments (CECI) team at Global Affairs Canada. With nearly four years of dedicated service to the program, Jamie has cultivated a network of communities and economic development organizations across Canada. Her experience enables her to offer guidance and insights that help clients strengthen their Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction strategies and create more competitive CECI applications.
